Some people think party poppers are only available on one style. But if you are in that number you would be wrong.
Party poppers have come a long way in recent times, and it isn’t just a case of having one small popper for each person now. There are several more choices available, so it pays to explore the market fully before you buy.
The basic form of party popper – the type that is quite bright and colourful – looks a bit like a squat bottle shape with a piece of string attached. These are nice and cheap and will do the trick if you want quantity on a budget above all else.
But don’t discount the more refined looking party poppers if you are planning a dinner party or even a wedding. The cone shaped party poppers are becoming easier to get hold of and they are also very popular. Gold and silver are commonly available and because they are cone shaped they will sit quite happily on any table. They will even look good as part of the overall table setting if you use the gold or silver colours elsewhere – perhaps for the serviettes as well.
The only problem with individual party poppers is that they can appear to be rather small. As such the contents of them won’t be propelled very far either. And let’s face it there are times when a bigger reaction is what you need!
If this is the case you will want to look for something a lot bigger – and in this situation a cannon is what you want.
Party cannons come in lots of different sizes, which immediately give you a lot more versatility to contend with. The largest one we could find was 80cm tall. Compare that to a tiny traditional party popper and you will see what the difference is!
As such these cannons also contain a lot more than several party poppers put together. They can also shoot the contents far higher into the air, creating a display that is well worth having your camera out for. Of course they won’t suit every occasion, but they are particularly suitable for weddings and are available in silver and gold colours as well, to fit in with any classic wedding look.
Of course they will cost a lot more than simple party poppers, but since you only need one per table you will find it a lot easier to make sure you have the right number for the occasion. It is still a good idea to buy one or two extra though, just in case you end up with more guests than you think you will have.
And the other added benefit is that you will get more than just streamers. These cannons will have confetti in them as well, so when they are set off you will instantly have a table which is decorated to celebrate the occasion!
